Word Analysis and Syllable Sort
Happy Fri-YAY Elderton Title 1 Families! Today's video focuses on analyzing words' vowel sounds and then sorting them according to their syllable types. Remember, closed syllables have the short vowel, which is closed in by a consonant letter(s). Open syllables end in a vowel which makes the long sound. Vowel consonant e syllables have that silent, sneaky e on the end which makes the other vowel say its name. Happy reading!

Word Analysis Drill (advanced sounds)
Happy Thursday, EE Title 1 Families!
Uploaded Apr 01, 2020 by Erin Zimmerman
Today's video will take you through an advanced sounds word drill. You should practice this daily. Remember, the first time through, work on analyzing the word....think about the vowel sounds, the base word, suffix endings and so on. Listen for what I ask....give your answer. Then, the second time through the drill we will apply those sounds to read the words as whole words.
I am so proud of each of you for working so hard at home. Keep reading!

Word analysis drill (advanced vowel sounds)
Thursday's video focuses on a word analysis drill with advanced vowel sounds. These include vowel teams, r controlled vowels and vowel consonant e words. Just like at Elderton, the first time through the drill, focus just on the vowel sound. The second time through, use your tappers from Fundations to tap out and read the words. Keep reading and keep working hard!

Word Analysis Drill (nonsense words)
Hi, Title 1 Kiddos,
Uploaded Mar 23, 2020 by Erin Zimmerman
I hope you're all doing well, staying healthy, and enjoying your time with your families.
Please work through this nonsense word drill daily. Remember, the first time through, simply focus on making the vowel sound. The second time through, you will read the whole word. Work on tapping and blending those sounds in your big, beautiful brains and then read as a whole word!
Practice this daily.
Thanks,
Mrs. Z. -
Word Analysis Drill CVC words
It's a terrific Tuesday for a word analysis drill! Work through the consonant vowel consonant real and nonsense words just like we do at EE. Remember, focus on the vowel sound first. The vowel is closed in, so it will make the short sound! The second time through the drill, use your tappers (from Fundations) to tap out and blend to read the words.
