ELA

The first part of CKLA is the skills branch. There are 6 units in the school year which focuses on reading and writing. It teaches children the decoding patterns and how to fluently apply them in decodable passages. It also focuses on spelling and grammar throughout each of the units.
The knowledge portion is the second component of CKLA, which focuses on increasing background knowledge and vocabulary for students in a variety of topics. (This is part of the foundation of the science of reading.) The link below shows the 12 domains in the knowledge branch.
